An Giang seafood processor exports 223.8 tonnes to US in Jan-Jul

VNStockNews.com - Among listed seafood exporters to the US during the past seven months, An Giang Fisheries Import Export Joint Stock Co. (AGF) ranked sixth in terms of output and the seventh in value.

Vo Phuoc Hung, member of AGF said that in Jan-Jul, his firm exported 223,800 tonnes of seafood to the US for nearly US$719,134.

In 2009, the export tariff to US, applied on AGF, was lowered to 0.52% while that on other companies is 63.88%, which created beneficial conditions for the company to boost export.

In details, according to the decision of US Department of Commerce in March, apart from QVD Dong Thap Ltd Co, AGF, Viet An Joint Stock Co. and Southern Seafood Industry Ltd Co and Binh Seafood JSC, the common tariff on remaining seafood processors of Vietnam is 63.88%.

Ending August 31, AGF was up 1,300 dong to 28,800 dong per share.
