VNStockNews.com - The market capitalisation of the nation’s stock exchanges in the first 10 months of this year was equal to 55 per cent of the nation’s gross domestic product, according to the State Securities Commission.
The ratio was generated from 415 companies listed on stock exchanges and 24 companies on the unlisted public company market (UPCoM). Market capitalisation is estimated to reach 65-70 per cent of GDP in 2015 and 90-100 per cent by 2020.
Nearly 730,000 trading accounts were opened at the nation’s stock brokerages in the first 10 months of the year, including 726,639 individual accounts and 2,953 institutional accounts. Of the total, 12,378 were opened by foreign investors.
