VNStockNews.com - Closing the trading session on January 6, 2010, the stock market witnessed contrary movements on both floors. While the index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) kept increasing for the third consecutive session, the HNX Index fell after four gains.
Particularly, the VN Index today gained another 1.93 points or 0.36% to 534.46 pts with the total matching order trade of 64.22 million shares for 3.079 trillion dong, down 3.6% in volume and 7.1% in value against previous session.
Statistic showed that amongst 203 listed shares and fund certificates on the southern bourse, the stock market recorded 82 shares increased, 87 others decreased and 33 remaining shares stood still at the comparative price.
Many bank shares decreased such as STB slashed 600 dong to 25,400 dong per share, EIB -600 to 25,500, VCB -1,800 to 48,000, CTG -1,400 to 30,100 along with other key stocks like BVH, FPT, DPM, HAG, VIC and PVD.
Meanwhile many gained points including KBC and PVF reaching the ceiling price 3,000 dong and 1,500 dong, SSI +2,500 to 95,000, HPG +2,000 to 66,000 and VNM +500 to 82,500 dong per share.
In terms of trading volume, SSI led the market with over 3.6 million shares and then STB over 2.8 million, EIB over 2.7 million, PPC over 2.5 million, KBC over 2.1 million, ITA over 1.9 million and HPG over 1.7 million shares being traded.
Conversely, the HNX Index today lost 3.7 points or 2.02% to end at 179.56 pts with the total market trade of 41.57 million shares valued at 1.584 trillion dong, up over 11% in volume and 19% in value compared to previous session.
