Stock market gloomy Feb 8

VNStockNews.com - Starting the first trading session of new week February 8 and the last trading week before the Tet holiday, both bourses Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) and Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) saw losses with gloomy transactions.

Particularly, the VN Index lost another 1.84 points or 0.37% to end at 491.2 pts with the total matching order trade of 19.11 million shares worth 823 billion dong, down 40% in volume and 44% in value against the previous session.

According to the statistic, of 212 share codes and fund certificates on the southern bourse, the market saw 44 gainers, 123 losers and 46 remaining shares stood still at the comparative price.

STB increased 600 dong to 22,900 dong per share, EIB +400 to 23,400, SSI +500 to 85,000, FPT +2,000 to 83,000 while other key stocks remained unchanged.

As for trading volume, STB regained the pole place with over 1.7 million shares, and then EIB over 992,000, SSI over 699,000, SAM 605,000, GMD over 603,000 and ITC with over 546,000 shares being traded.

Similarly, the HNX Index also continued to fall 0.47 points or 0.29% to close at 161.37 pts with the total market trade of 11 million shares valued at nearly 350 billion dong, falling 35% in volume and 33% in value in comparison with previous session.
