VNStockNews.com - Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) held a ceremony on the weekend to name its first crane work barge fitted to house 300 people, in a step towards adapting to the rising demand for accommodation for workers and experts in the petroleum industry.
The Singaporean Jaya Shipbuilding & Engineering Pte. Ltd. constructed and delivered the state-of-the-art barge worth US$30 million. The vessel, named the PTSC Offshore 01, has an 8-point mooring system and a helideck to serve offshore installation as well an operation and maintenance.
Measuring 111 meters long, 31 meters wide and 7 meters deep, the deck has a 3-storey housing block, which includes working and living areas, a hospital, entertainment and conference rooms and offices.
PTSC Offshore Services Company will manage and operate the barge.
PTSC is a petroleum services corporation, specializing in marine, supply base, onshore and offshore mechanical and construction services.
