Stock Movers: Phuoc Hoa Rubber, Petroleum Equipment

VNStockNews.com - Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Ho Chi Minh City.


The VN Index (VNINDEX), the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, rose for a third day, adding 0.8 percent to 347.43.

Rubber Stocks: Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (PHR) , the country’s biggest listed rubber company, surged 4.3 percent to 26,700 dong. Thong Nhat Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (TNC) rose 1.6 percent to 12,500 dong. Saovang Rubber Joint-Stock Co. (SRC) rallied 1.7 percent, to 6,100 dong.

Rubber gained to a two-week high amid speculation that China, the world’s largest consumer, may take measures to support economic growth and raw-material demand.

Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure Joint-Stock Co. (PXS VN), rose 2.7 percent to 7,500 dong. The company’s 2011 net profit increased 25 percent to 109.5 billion dong ($5.2 million) from a year earlier, according to a filing on the stock exchange website.
